Humsan Services Agency

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text]

I began my career with the County as a student worker while completing my Business degree in Organizational Systems Development from Cal State Northridge. Early on in my career with the Human Services Agency I developed a passion for the mission and public service- most  importantly giving back to the community  to help open doors to  opportunities and quality of life.

As a County employee for over 37 years, my career path has taken me from an extra help student worker to Chief Deputy Director of the Human Services Agency, and during that time I have benefited greatly from the leadership and mentorship of many quality managers within our County family.  I do believe my own personal and professional development has been greatly due to the important relationships and learning acquired within our County networks- which is exactly why the Management Council was formed and is such a valuable asset to our County Management team.  The Management Council promotes excellence through opportunities to form mutually respectful and inclusive relationships, opportunities for mentoring and coaching, opportunities to share diverse ideas and perspectives, modeling the right behaviors for our workplace to follow, and most importantly investing in the growth and development of our workforce. Serving on the Board is an honor and a way of continuing to give back to our workforce; fostering and exemplifying excellence in county governance and leadership.

Outside of the workplace, I find great value in community stewardship and have been involved with a number of local non-profit organizations furthering the mission of meeting the needs of our collective communities; having served on the Food Share Board as a past Chair and Board Member, and currently serving as Board Chair of the Ventura County Red Cross, and the Chair of the Women’s Economic Ventura of Santa Barbara and Ventura County.

Lastly, finding balance between work, non-profit work, and family is important- enjoying living in the beautiful City of San Buenaventura with my husband Dale, and sons Brennan and Daniel, and newest addition to the family granddaughter Kali.  Cooking is my away from work passion- as it brings together family and friends, providing  joy, sharing, laughter , and love.
