Under David’s guidance, staff relations with contractors became more professional and contract negotiations fair and reasonable. When some elected officials and residents wanted the County to shoulder the full cost of sidewalk repair, David pushed back with a better idea that saved homeowners money at no cost to the County. When asked to study an issue, David can be counted on to bring back complete, unbiased information – even if unpopular. David routinely applies a sense of fairness when dealing with peers, contractors, and county residents.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Superior Customer Service” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:24|text_align:left|color:%23052e97″ google_fonts=”font_family:Pacifico%3Aregular|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_custom_heading text=”Recipient: Charles Genkel, Resource Management, Environmental Health” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:14|text_align:left|color:%233494d2″ google_fonts=”font_family:Montserrat%3Aregular%2C700|font_style:700%20bold%20regular%3A700%3Anormal”][vc_single_image image=”347950″][vc_custom_heading text=”Nominee(s)” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:14|text_align:left|color:%233494d2″ google_fonts=”font_family:Montserrat%3Aregular%2C700|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]Charles Genkel, Resource Management, Environmental Health

Beginning on December 5th, 2017, he understood the already catastrophic destruction, importance of protecting public health, and need for a debris clean-up process. He worked after-hours, weekends and on his scheduled days off to provide the citizens of Ventura County the information they need. Charles worked tirelessly with RMA colleagues, several county agencies and departments, the City of Ventura staff and State representatives to put into place debris clean-up programs which ensure residents in the burned areas can move forward timely in the recovery process.
